SOCIAL ENGAGEMENT WEEK 2: PLAYING WITH GOOGLE

It's been a week and on 20th March, we finally had our second meet up with the kiddos :D

     Last Tuesday we had a lot of fun with all the kids including those from other groups because we only booked the Cube. Therefore, we cooperated with everyone and accomplished our evening with so many things. On the first hour, we showed them some videos regarding google searching techniques, which is then explained by our fellow friends, Ali, Amira, and also Fatin (from another group).

      The first video was quite boring and barely understood by the kids despite had been explained by Ali so we proceed to show them on how to search using google. We only taught them 3 basic searching techniques in google, including searching a specific site, searching something that doesn't include a certain word by inserting -, and using the "" to search for a song by using the lyrics. The techniques were later then explained by Amira and Fatin so the kids could understand more.

      Next, we gave the kids a break for dinner and pray until 8pm. We then continued our learning by teaching them personally on how to used the techniques we taught before. Some of us didn't bring laptop so there's certain kids who shared laptops with each other. I personally taught my boy Haikal on the techniques using my laptop, and I had to admit it was fun to do a hands-on activity. I get to know how well Haikal could manage using the laptop by his own. He did pretty well, and I think we could smoothly do the e-learning without any problem since he had the basics on how to use the laptop.

      By 9pm, all of us finished our session and we proceed with last cleanup on the Cube by arranging back the chairs and tables. We then waited for all the kids' parents to come and picked them up before going back to our places. That's all we did last week, and I sure am excited to meet the kids after mid-semester break!

p/s: Despite the absence of Dr. Norizan, our session went smoothly with no problems at all :)
